With the major goal to provide you with accurate information about sports and sports betting, we've made efforts to make a list with details when the most popular football leagues are expected to start.
The Most Popular Football Leagues
England Premier League
When will the Premier League resume? According to the latest news coming from England, the chosen date should be Monday 8th of June, with the aim of ending the season by 31st of July. During the last 4-hour conference call staged on Thursday 30th of April, the 20 clubs of the top English series expressed their desire to complete the Premier calendar with 92 games still to be played. It remains to be seen how, though. Among the proposals received at the 'Project Restart' there would be that of playing matches behind closed doors and played in neutral fields from 12th of June, with more changes available and times of less than 45 minutes. Obviously, we do not know if and which will be listened to and possibly adopted. However, there should be a turning point on Monday 11th of May, after the government has expressed its opinion on the general blockade of the country. If the upcoming news are true, we are sure that they will immediately bring a wave of bookmakers’ offers and bonuses for the English Premier League which of course you will be able to find on our site.
Update - According to the latest EPL statement football in Premier League will be back on the field on 17 June.
The first major championship that could restart after the forced stop due to the corona virus pandemic is the Bundesliga. German football is, in fact, ready to start again and particularly encouraging signs are coming from the German health minister and from the governors of the individual Land. Angela Merkel will analyse in detail the prepared file of the German Football Association relating to the security plan to deal with the virus. Meanwhile, the majority of the teams have started preparing for the eventual resume of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. The German teams are at work, and the officials already confirmed that the return will be on the 16th of May, strictly behind closed doors, with a maximum of 249 people inside of the stadium between players, referees, managers, doctors, televisions and ball boys.
As mentioned, the teams have already been working for two weeks with all the necessary precautions: groups of few players, changing rooms one at a time and showering at home. All studied in detail to allow German football to restart the engines and end the championship by the end of June, which is great news for all football fans. Keep in mind that, once the German football is allowed, immediately the bookmakers will provide a great variety of odds and markets, which will be available on our Odds Comparison.
When does Serie A start again? This is the question that all the fans of the 20 league teams and other football fans have been asking for many weeks now. At the moment it is really complicated to give answers to this question. Worth underlying, that starting this week the players of the league teams will be able to train individually in view of the resumption of Serie A. Then from 18th May there may be an opening for the group training, but everything will depend on the health conditions of the players and also the internal situation in the country. The exact date of the renewal of the Serie A championship is unclear at the moment. We are optimist about the start of the league, nevertheless we are also realist and surely that will not happened prior 31st of May. However, the tipsters on our site are already giving their best to be prepared with knowledge and share their betting tips as soon as the league starts.
While there is a chance for season start at the end of the month, in fact, if the government were to confirm the dossier of the FIGC technical and scientific committee and restart group training on 18th of May, at least three weeks of preparation will be needed before the first championship matches will be played. Considering that there are more than 100 games left at the end of the Serie A championship, the end of the season would not arrive before the end of July (playing every three days).
Update: According to the FIGC the confirmed date of Serie A resuming is 20 June.
La Liga (Spain)
La Liga returns to training: they are the same clubs that make up the top Spanish league to announce it, through a press release on the competition's official website. The guidelines for the resumption of training sessions are very similar to those that Serie A clubs are have adopted. Individual sessions are mandatory and a ban on access to the facilities of the training base with the exception of the training fields. A first positive sign towards the return to normal, with the aim of returning to the field from the beginning of June, as explained by the president of the Liga, Javier Tebas, in the statement.
Update: Latest RSFF statement confirmed 11 June as a resuming day of Spanish La Liga.
