It’s one of the final two games of the World Cup group stage, and it’s fair to say these two sides won’t be missed by too many English fans.
Panama were guilty of some robust tactics in their defeats to Belgium and England, while the Tunisian’s were extremely defensive against the Three Lions, eventually succumbing to a late Harry Kane winner.
In terms of a victor here, Tunisia are worthy favourites at 5/6, and that looks like a very appetising price. The North Africans have showed a lot more cohesion across the pitch, and Panama will have to deal with a couple of suspensions, as well as a tired team that is amongst the oldest in the tournament.
Expect the Panamanians to go out with one last hurrah, though. They showed in their games against the English & Belgians that they pose some threat going forward, and with the Tunisians also keen to finish the tournament on a high, you can expect over 2.5 goals to have a great chance at odds of 8/11 with William Hill.
Wahbi Khazri has proven himself to be quite the useful number 9 for Tunisia, in what isn’t his usual position. The on-loan Rennes winger finished off a consolation goal against Belgium very nicely, and is capable of great things with a dead ball. If you want to complete your group stage betting with an anytime goalscorer bet, then Khazri is your man at 13/8 with Betfair.
Such is the nature of this game, along with the poor defensive records of both sides, it isn’t out of the question to say that both teams scoring in both halves is a decent-looking bet at a massive 9/1 with Betfair. Neither side really knows how to defend, so their best ports of call to get something out of the game is to give it a bit of a go in the final third, so we may be in line for a few fireworks.
With England and Belgium seemingly trying their best to avoid winning their final game to duck tough opposition in the next round, you may well be better off tuning into this one. The quality of players will be nowhere near as high, but it’s often the case that this sort of game brings the most action. You’ve got to fancy Tunisia to nick it, and I fancy them to win with both teams scoring, which you can get at 5/2 with William Hill.
